Kokeshi japanese doll vintage creative by master Murakami Kenichi.

Born in 1929, initially he studied oil painting, around the mid 40's he began to study and create Shingata Kokeshi.
His Kokeshi are beautiful prompting the wood and its texture with very little paint. Most have wood-burned designs like this which play beautifully into the grain of the wood.

They stand 9 and 8 cms / 2,3 and 2 inches.
