This Jerusalem Olive wood with Faith, Hope and Love, hand turned wood ballpoint twist pen, was custom made in our family's West Virginia workshop.

According to the Old Testament, olive oil was used as an essential oil to anoint kings and prophets. It was also used as source of fuel to light lamps in the temples of Jerusalem and symbolized the sign of peace for God and mankind. The Olive tree (Olea europaea) is considered sacred because Jesus Christ preached and lived in areas where olive trees are bountiful. According to the Bible, majority of the woods that Jesus Christ worked during his carpentry years are olive wood. Apart from these, there are numerous instances where the olive trees are mentioned in the Bible. According to religious history, the cross where Jesus Christ was crucified was made of olive wood. These very rare olive wood pen blanks are produced from the trimmings of the olive trees that grow in Mountain of olives in the old city of Jerusalem in the Holy Land. An essential process for a healthier growth for the trees and to generate environmental stability. No Tree is damaged or destroyed in the process of harvesting this wood.

It features gorgeous character marks throughout and feels solid and comfortable in your hand. The beautiful, shiny CA finish is smooth and durable to last through daily use.

This is a meaningful and spiritual pen. "Faith" "Hope" and "Love" are intricately cast into the center band and the pen top features attractive cross designs. The Cross on the tips and clips are reference to the Fleur-de-lis. In the Middle Ages the symbols of lily and Fleur-de-lis overlapped considerably in Christian religious art. The three petals of the heraldic design reflect a widespread association with the Holy Trinity. Here we are using the three to symbolize the virtues of Faith, Hope and Love. The braided rope detail reinforces the concept of trinity, with a braided rope being made from three separate stands into something much stronger.

Features a parker style refill. To replace the refill, simply unscrew at the middle and replace the cartridge. Refills can be purchased at your local office supply store or online.
