Each bracelet is handmade by me and is truly, a one of a kind piece. While I'm making each bracelet, I start to come up with a name: Sometimes it's based on the color, sometimes it is just the vibe the piece gives me... this one struck me as simple and elegant but full of potential, just like the kingdom of Ashanti, so it's name was born.
Ghana, officially the Republic of Ghana, is a country located along the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean, in the sub region of West Africa. Spanning a substantial land mass of 92,099 square miles, Ghana is bordered by the Ivory Coast in the west, Burkina Faso in the north, Togo in the east and the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean in the south. Ghana means "Warrior King" in the Soninke language.
The first permanent state in the territory of present-day Ghana dates back to the 11th century. Numerous kingdoms and empires emerged over the centuries, of which the most powerful was the Kingdom of Ashanti.
"Ashanti" is a one of a kind, chunky selling and fun bracelet that features a single strand- chock full of eye-catching and colorful goodies- from the rich turquoise raw nuggets to its African brass accents. Ashanti is accented in rich, antique brass findings and features a large toggle-style clasp.
The bracelet measures 9.75 inches overall and fits a wrist from 7.5-10 inches. The length can be adjusted for a smaller or larger wrist, but it will need to be re-worked and a small fee will be charged.
Your new bracelet will come elegantly wrapped in a navy velvet pouch, perfect for gift giving, or to keep your one of a kind piece safe.
