Recycled bicycle mood lighting!

As it turns out, those small mason jars fit quite nicely into gear rings. :-)

The gear rings are strung on shifter cables that run up through holes in the big ring. Cable clamps prevent the cables from slipping through the holes in the bolts. The pedal is firmly attached to a bit of reclaimed ash floor board.

Any parts that might rust have been given a layer of clear selling coat, but, remember, rust never sleeps. The front of the floor board still has it's factory finish and the sides have been coated with tung oil. There are holes for screws at the top & bottom so it can be firmly attached to a vertical surface.
