This blue and white transferware soup bowl / plate in the Russian Palace pattern was made in the early 1800's in England. The design is printed in medium blue with a Russian Palace in a country setting, with a three arched bridge, deer in the foreground, and two Russian figures crossing another bridge under a weeping willow tree. The scene is framed by a floral border which includes convolvulus, roses and other flowers. The soup bowl is 10" in diameter and 1 1/4" deep. The base does not have a backstamp, but it is impressed with the number 5.
The soup plate is in very good antique condition. It has a 1 1/2" hairline crack from the edge which is visible on the back and front of the bowl. It has mild crazing overall, but just a small area of staining on the back of the bowl surrounding the hairline. There are no chips. This bowl would display beautifully. Please see the photos for more selling detail.
