Group photographs provide a snapshot back in time, to get a glimpse of a special event in the lives of our ancestors. Finding one featuring women from the past is always such a treat for me, as they are much rarer than those featuring men. This patriotic ladies parade is unique - what group were they a part of? They all have flags, and the two ladies in the front of the procession carry a handmade 'U S A' banner. There are a few men on the fringes of the group, also holding flags. It doesn't appear to be a July Fourth event, as the clothes of both the men and women indicate it is not summer (and there aren't any leaves on the trees). I've been told this is from Madison, Wisconsin, and I did confirm there was a street car in town (as the tracks can be seen in the center of the photo). I'd love to know more about this group if anyone out there has any ideas!!
The frame is 10 1/4” by 8 1/4” by 1/2” thick, and the photo itself is 9” by 7”. Decent vintage condition, with a small scratch in the glass and a bit of grubbiness overall. Although this was originally an easel style frame, there is a small hanging hook on the back to hang it on the wall.
I am happy to ship internationally - please convo me for a quote if your country is not listed. selling
