Scandinavian Sterling Silver selling Berries with Leaves Brooch Signed by S. Christian Fogh

Here is a beautiful Berries and Leaves Brooch made in Sterling Silver. The brooch is Scandinavian from Copenhagen, Denmark where the workshop of its talented maker, S.Christian Fogh, was in operation between 1947 and 1973.

This Vintage pin, which I would estimate dates to the 1950s era, has all the detail you would expect from a talented silversmith. First there is a gently curved abstract bow from which the fruit and foliage is suspended. A selling subtle movement is encouraged making the berries glint and sparkle! The leaves are beautifully executed with zig zag margins and veins. The round berry fruits are not just stamped out; there are 19 individual spheres of different sizes joined to give a naturalistic 3-D effect.

To the reverse S.Christian Fogh's signature mark of ‘SCF' in an oval along with the words Sterling Silver can be clearly seen. The brooch fastens with a sharp pin guarded with a roll-over type clasp.

Offered in great condition, this desirable fruity brooch has the top bow pin measuring 3.5cm long and 1cm wide at its widest points with the berry and leaf dangle being 2.75cm by 3cm at its widest points.
