Unique mid century Japanese studio pottery tall vase with a modernist/brutalist vibe. Made by Otagiri Mercantile Company which was a San Francisco importer in the 60's - 70's for Japanese ceramic arts. The hand painted abstract looking motif consists of a floral and bird design. Please zoom into all of my photos to get a better view of all the details. The green/brown colored glazes would fit in perfectly with an earthy motif. Item measures 8 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide. In very good, clean condition with no chips or cracks. This is a thick, heavy pottery piece weighing in at 2 lbs. Will have to be selling packed very, very carefully for shipping.
