Aynsley - Pembroke - RARE and UNIQUE selling Bud vase with BACKWARDS makers mark!

This is a pretty vintage Aynsley “Pembroke” bud vase that is very RARE and UNIQUE in that the whole backstamp has been applied backwards.

When Aynsley was established in 1775, tea was a luxury item imported from the orient, complete with decorated porcelain tea cups for drinking it. The Pembroke pattern was inspired in the eighteenth century by one of those original oriental designs. Each piece has beautiful flowers in shades of selling pink, blue and red with blue and green leaves and brown twigs. There is always a happy little blue bird sitting on a branch or strategically placed elsewhere on some of the small animal giftware items.
