This piece was originally a commission from Subiaco Academy back in 2014. It is a view of the snow covered monk's cemetery.
It was incredibly challenging to replicate snow, the subtle clouds in the sky, in addition to illustrating the many snow covered crosses in perspective.
It is done in a pointillist style and rendered in pen and ink and is comprised of hundreds of thousands of dots. Each one is round and the dark areas are dots on dots on dots etc. It took approximately 60 hours to complete.
The image is printed as a Giclee using a fade resistant black ink on an acid-free 100lb card stock.
