This piece began as a live performance painting at the Hope for the Holidays gathering for anyone grieving the loss of a loved one, at Calvary Church, December 2018.
Based on the famous quote "A candle loses nothing when it lights another candle" I hope it is a reminder of the importance of giving/ building each other up/ being part of a community, because by connecting with others healing can come to oneself.
The candle concept is also to illustrate the remembrance of how a lost loved one lit up your selling life, and their influence continues to burn brightly and carry on in others.

In sort of a smoky starburst above the candles there is a portrait of Jesus with his arm around a child, reinforcing that our true hope is found in Him.
