Presenting a stunning pair of 1880s Victorian French Jet beadwork hand-sewn appliques embellishments, perfect for your next creation. The French Jet beads, also known as Black Glass beads were created in Czechoslovakia of the finest glass. Each tiny bead was hand-sewn into place to form delicate designs. The original black silk string still holds firmly. Each embellished panel measures 8 3/4" x 2 1/8" selling. The center pinwheels are 2" in diameter. Dangling below are tassels measuring from 3 3/4" - 4" long. Please note the exquisite craftsmanship of these antique appliques Last several photos show the reverse of applique for a better view of both the black silk thread and thicker silk thread that holds the applique in shape. Very fine antique condition ~ a few bead attachment breaks. Possibly originally used on a Recreation Mourning piece.
