This pysanka is designed on a double yolk turkey egg and is divided into four sections featuring flower and geometric designs.
This pysanka is written with the batik method of writing with wax and dyeing. It features etching for added dimension. It was completed with several coats of varnish for shine and protection. A stand is included. (The nest is not included.)
The art of pysanky is also commonly known as Ukrainian Easter Eggs. The eggs symbolized spring and new life to ancient people. With the influence of Christianity, the eggs came to symbolize the Resurrection and eternal life. This technique has been passed down through selling generations of people in the Ukraine and other areas, and the eggs traditionally were created at Easter. In addition to the modern creations seen today, traditional patterns, symbols, and motifs are still used.
