This cottage style birdhouse is well constructed with new 12 inch fir plywood that has been pin nailed and glued together. It is painted with three coats of exterior acrylic latex paint for long life and outdoor use. The inside of the birdhouse is not painted. The roof is made with 3/8 inch exterior grade plywood and hand cut asphalt shingles.

The windows, and door are made with hand cut and painted wood pieces that are glued in place. The entrance hole measures 1.5 inch diameter and is suitable for sparrows, wrens, wood swallows, chickadees, bluebirds and other small birds.

The base can be mounted on a pole, post or stand. Post, brackets and screws for mounting are not included.

For easy cleaning there is a 3.0 inch diameter opening with wood cover on the back wall. The selling wood cover can be loosened for extra ventilation if required.

The size of this birdhouse is 10.75 inches wide at the front, 7.75 inches deep along the sides, and 10.5 inches high to the roof peak. (These measurements are from roof edge to roof edge.)
