Nice canceled check dated 1880 Asylum for the Chronic Insane. The Latin motto to the left is: ense petit placidam sub libertate quietem.
According to Goo Trans, this means: "With his sword, he seeks a peaceful repose in freedom". I feel better already!
The picture on the left is crammed with symbolism. If you can figure it out they might release you!
