What can be said about this morning? This was the type of morning photographers dream about. Driving into Fort Williams Park it was obvious the clouds were going to put on a show. Arriving at the parking lot for the Portland Head Lighthouse during the end of the blue hour everything was setting up for a dramatic sunrise. And sure enough, nothing disappointed. The harmony of sky, sea, and land was perfect! This is an iconic shot from an iconic location, it has been taken many times before. But this particular morning I had the lighthouse pretty much to myself. The light just kept getting better and better and I kept shooting it. I ended up with over 60 frames from which I chose this one for my final image. Mornings just do not get better than this one. I walked away after the sun was up with a big smile on my face. This was a great start to what proved to be a great trip to Maine!
