Vintage Saint Therese of Lisieux Plaque

Dating back to the middle of the 20th-century, this vintage Catholic plaque honors Saint Therese of Lisieux, also known as Saint Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, O.C.D. Therese was a Roman Catholic French Discalced Carmelite nun who is widely venerated in modern times.

The front has a portrait of St. Therese as a young Carmelite nun holding a bouquet of roses and a crucifix close to her heart. The plaque is signed by the famous French sculptor and medallist Fr. M. Bernard R. It is also initialed 'JB' selling indicating that it was made in Jean Balme's atelier in Saumur, France. The verso is blank.

The plaque is crafted in silver alloy and measures 2" tall x 2 1/2" wide. It can easily be mounted on a wall in the cockpit or cabin of a sailboat or on a door. In Excellent vintage condition.
