Though it may seem like a bright and joyful painting at first glance, River of Regret has some seriously sinister undertones; the pinks, purples, and oranges look inviting, but can be seen being dragged down and overtaken by the blue. I can only imagine that a swimmer would suffer the same fate if they happened to swim in this river.
