A wonderful 1850 hand block printed chintz from France, a beauty! It has that wonderful paper like quality that I adore! ~*~ The fabric was used to make a little seat cushion slip cover and a much later date. There is elastic added. Very easy to just remove and use as fabric! ~*~ The tone of the ground is aged and the printing a lovely shade of green ~ This is a light weight fabric. *~Around this time in France, cotton supplies were scarce because of the civil war in the USA so these light weight cottons were very popular at this time! It is Amazingly high quality the printing is so lovely ~ this is an aged fabric, ideal for period projects ~a Beauty! ~*~
